Disposal and recycling instructions
Your digital inhaler and its packaging are composed of different materials which should be correctly recycled and disposed of. Below, we’ve outlined a few simple steps you can take to successfully reduce its environmental impact.
Recycling your digital inhaler
Your inhaler contains a battery (lithium-manganese dioxide) and a plastic casing. Teva UK Limited is collaborating with REPIC Ltd®, a specialist waste management company who can correctly recycle parts of your inhaler* and foil packaging.
Return via freepost envelope or certain pharmacies
A fully recyclable freepost envelope* is available for you to send your digital inhaler to the Teva UK Limited office, who will send it on to REPIC Ltd®. The freepost envelope can be picked up from the pharmacy that dispensed your inhaler.
Alternatively, contact Teva support via the contact details below to arrange for one to be sent to you:
Your inhaler can also be returned to your community pharmacy for correct disposal. To find your nearest pharmacy, please visit Find a pharmacy - NHS.
The Digihaler® contains a lithium-manganese dioxide battery and must not be thrown away via household waste.
*REPIC Ltd provides end-of-life recycling services for the digital inhaler, as it contains both recyclable (plastics, circuitry, some metal and the battery) as well as some non-recyclable components (some metal and any residual medicine). All components that can be recycled will be treated, and residual medicinal matter disposed of.
Recycling your inhaler packaging
The cardboard carton and patient information leaflet can be recycled at home in your standard household recycling bin.
